About Diamond Bagging
An operation, in which the diamonds required for the jewellery are picked and put into a bag, then given to
production.
Before Innovation
Worldwide 10850 million diamonds bagged manually; we were bagging 6 million using 22 people. Disadvantage-
manual operation is prone for errors. For 2014/15, we need to bag 22 million diamonds using 72 people.
Automation
An operation where a robotic equipment (interface from ERP) bags, before giving to production.
Benefits
Monotony, eyestrain and backpain is eliminated for people. Since the bagging automation equipment has been
done in-house (under patenting), there exists a business for 10000 equipments of 5000 crores value.
