Conventional prototype making process
In the convention proto making process, the design will be made in CAD (Computer Aided Design). CAD input file will be given to CAM (Computer Aided Machine) where we get the Resin master which is replica of the original design.
Resin master will be converted as a Silver master through investment casting process. Then the Rubber mould will be cut using the Silver master. We can take “n” number of wax pieces using the Rubber mould. A wax tree will be made using the wax pieces. The wax tree will be converted to Gold tree through investment casting process. The separated cast pieces will be moved to Downstream department where we get the final jewellery product. Diamonds will be set manually. The stone setting operation is the most critical and complex process in the jewellery manufacturing . This 100% manual depended process is taking 65% of the production lead time. After setting the stones in the product, polishing will be done and now the final product is ready.

Rapid prototype making process
In the innovative proto making process is deskilling the complex operation, ie. Stone setting through placing the virtual stones in the CAD stage itself instead of setting the stones in metal. CAD input file will be given to CAM (Computer Aided Machine) where we get the Resin master which is replica of the original design.
Rubber mould will be cut using the Resin master and the implication of the stones will be formed in the Rubber. Stones will be placed in the Rubber mould itself, where the exact cavity is available. We get the wax pieces with stones placed. A wax tree will be made using these wax pieces. The wax tree will be converted to Gold tree through investment casting process. The separated cast pieces will be moved to Downstream department where we get the final jewellery product. Only finishing operations will be carried out there and the final product is ready. The stone setting operation has been completely eliminated through innovative process.
