Inspiration

Inspiration is the foundation for creative thinking. Different people are inspired by different things. It is this diversity of inspiration that leads people to innovate on different things in their lives. At Titan, we celebrate the uniqueness and differences of each Titanian. Each of us has the freedom to be unique, to be different, to always stir our natural creative ability and to think outside of the box in order to manifest innovation.

To celebrate this uniqueness, the Titan Innovation Council is happy to present the inaugural issue of the Titan Innovation e-Newsletter, with an eclectic collection of articles and features, which we hope you enjoy going through and hope that you find something that inspires you.

Innovative ideas from across the world, big and small, old and new, have been included which we hope you enjoy reading. Some of our favourite pieces are the TESCO zero carbon store, the Adidas adiVERSE touchscreen ,  the Stradivarius, the glass staircase at the Apple store in NYC, the Bionic car of Mercedes Benz and the Terrafugia. Under Expert Speak; we have got variety from Pixar to Microsoft!

Each year, the editors of the Harvard Business Review consult their extensive network of expert authors to identify the best ideas that will likely influence the future of business. We sought special permission from the Harvard Editorial Board to feature 4 of their Breakthrough Ideas that seem most vital for the immediate feature. If you haven’t already read them, do make sure you read the Business of Biomimicry, the IKEA effect, The Dynamics of Personal Influence and Harnessing Social Pressure.

There is an immense amount of work happening in the social sector in India which we thought should get included in the newsletter. The must read piece in this issue is the one on Little World, where Anurag Gupta is banking millions of unbanked rural Indian women! Fascinating!

There is the Titan news including the Innovation Bazaar, the recent awards which we have won etc. There is a tribute to Titan Edge, which gave us global recognition in the area of Innovation. We have included a section on news from the TATA Group, which will be updated with each issue.

You may post comments after each article and you may also cast your vote for the latest poll.

The coming of an idea is ordinarily accompanied by a surge of enthusiasm, an inrush of energy, and an almost compulsive need to work. It is this combination that is popularly called “Inspiration”.

Thank you and enjoy
